Family Announcement: "VELA, Nellie Pauline. Early Wednesday 27 July 2022 morning, with her family by her side, Nellie passed away peacefully at St Margaret's Hospital in Auckland. Nellie was 89 years old, and the devoted wife of the late Boze Vela, and dearly loved mother of Pauline, Kleme and Jennifer Vela. Nellie was the adored mother-in-law to Michael, Rowena and Peter and cherished grandmother to Katze, Benjamin and Leon. A celebration of Nellie's life will be held at The Main Chapel of the Morrison Funeral Home, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson on Wednesday 3rd August at 10:00am. In preference to flowers, please make donations in Nellie's name to Dementia New Zealand and we ask that people wear something red, as this was Nellie's favourite colour."
