Family Announcement: "On January 3, 2021, peacefully at Holmdene Rest Home, Balclutha, surrounded by her loving family and in the dedicated care of the Holmdene staff; aged 92 years. Loved wife of the late Alan, a much-loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Liz and Bryce Johnston, Garth and Chris, Pam Shaw and Mike Kearney (Nelson), David and Robyn, the late Stephen, a treasured Gran of her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and a dearly loved sister of Betty Malcolm (Auckland), the late Dorothy Dickie, and the late Alfred Broad. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Balclutha St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at Gwen's service.
