Val was a very special friend of my father, Harry Brown. They spent much time together over the years while Val researched her Tongariro National Park and Tongariro River series. Harry guided her to the spots she most wanted to visit, returning time and again for more material.
Later when he lived in Taupo, Val was kindness itself, visiting Harry taking him on trips and generally being the one who made his life the best it could have been in his situation. Val’s care of our father will not be forgotten by our family.
