Family Announcement: "Of Miramar, Wellington. On Saturday, 30 July 2022, peacefully at Malvina Major Hospital, after a period of illness. Aged 89 years. Second daughter of the late Elizabeth & Keith Newdick, and loved sister and sister-in-law of Elizabeth & Alex (both deceased), Gilmour (dec) & Isobel, Mary & the late Barry, Avis & the late Gordon, David & Jo, and the late Cherie. Dearly loved aunt and great-aunt of all her nieces and nephews, and the extended family."

"A service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9–11 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu, at 10.00am on Saturday, 6 August, to be followed by interment at Awa Tapu Cemetery. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed via livestream, at www.kcfh.stream. Messages for the Newdick family may be sent c/- PO Box 119, Paraparaumu 5254."
