One condolence on “LOCKE, Pamela Hillsley (nee Clayton)”

  1. “Determination” is how I would describe Pam in one word. She carried a “Dignified, Beauty”in her determination – “Pam never gave up on Pam”. I notice one day Pam’s aura seemed agitated/upset to say the least. I walked over and sat beside her. She was shaking with clenched hands. I asked her what was wrong and as she lifted her head saying “not haha”, I realised why she was angry. One of her eye brows was drawn on just above her eye and the other looked like it had a bit of a surprise sitting midway on her forehead. Anyway, we disappeared(to her room) and proceeded to re-do her makeup and change up her clothing. We had a routine where we would head to the mirror (after I finished her cares) and she would give the heads up or show me what she wanted changed. By the way, the Carer that did Pams cares that morning mentioned that she didn’t feel comfortable doing Pams cares because she was thrusting at her walker ,the wall etc. One of many examples of Pam’s determination to remain Pam. Funny too,she could have a good old joke. One of the other residents son had come into visit his mum and he happened to be standing in front of us. I said to Pam in a loud voice, “You see that fellow over there….well run him over” – you should of seen the cheek in her eyes as she aimed her walker and started walking quickly towards him. Oh my goodness, it was so funny we all broke out into laughter. I have some really fond memories of Pam, she wasn’t just a resident she became my friend. Thank you, for mentioning the fact that you are all appreciative of the “Silver Fern Team”. We enjoyed having Pam and we are the ones that are so thankful to you David and your family for sharing Pam with us. Now, “Jesus has a little Pam” Arohanui Jackie (Olive Tree)
