Family Obituary Message: "Born 15 march 1929, Hildesheim, Germany, Died 05 March 2021. Auckland, New Zealand. Loving wife of the late Sol, beloved and devoted mother of Deb, Filler and Esther Haver, respected mother-in- law to Arnon Haver, and Franscine, Zuckerman. Very loved nana of Ron, Samara, and Daniella, and extremely proud great grandmother of Adira and Talia. Daughter of the late Philipp and Margueta Adler. Ruth was gracious, loving, and generous- extremely proud of her family and a loyal and wonderful friend. She received a Queens Honour (QSO) in 2001 and Zonta Woman of the year in recognition of her tireless community work. Ruth arrived in New Zealand as a refugee from Nazi Germany in 1938 with her parents and sister Inge. She attended Newton West Primary and Auckland Girls Grammar where she excelled as a student. She met her future husband Sol, who was a survivor of the holocaust, in Sydney in 1951 and they married in Auckland January 1952. They owned several popular bakeries and always considered New Zealand as their privileged home. She loved Bridge, family and food (notably smoked salmon). She was resilient to the end. Ruth is now with the people she loved, who no doubt have welcomed her and are playing bridge, baking, and singing together. Rest in peace dear Ruth. We love and you will never, never be forgotten."
