Family Announcement: "Charles passed away peacefully on the 11 September 21, aged 86 years. His final wish was granted, to pass away peacefully in the beautiful Tōtara Hospice environment. Charles was with his daughters Anna and Sharon at this time. His son Simon was unable to be with him due to Covid restrictions, sadly for all of us, especially Dad. Charles has touched the hearts of many people in this lifetime and will so be missed by each and everyone of us. He is the much loved dad to Anna, Sharon and Simon, and their partners and Simon's wife Sarah. He was deeply loved and cherished by his grandchildren Matthew, Jon, Benjamin, Emma, Amber, Oliver and Isla. He was awaiting the birth of his great grandchild at the end of November. Lovingly he saw the baby by scan. With much love, he is survived by his brother Ian. Charles was an ex-principal of Waikohu and Waiuku Colleges in which he embraced the Maori culture which enriched his life and the meaning of life being a kiwi. He has undeniably been an amazing role model to all of us and will be so dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. Kia kaha.
